Hours, Rates and Information About Your Visit

We are looking forward to welcoming you at Historic Huguenot Street during our touring season. If you are planning a visit, the information below should help you. If you are organizing a group tour, much of the information below should also be helpful.  Specific information about group tours can also be found on our Group Tours page.

Dates and Hours of Operation

The DuBois Fort Visitor Center is now closed for the winter except for special events.

Historic Huguenot Street offers special programs year-round.  The grounds of Historic Huguenot Street are open to the public 365 days a year. In 2012, the DuBois Fort Visitor Center is open May 19 through October 28.

May:  Saturday and Sundays starting May 19th, 10:30am to 4:30pm, also open Monday, May 28th (Memorial Day)

June through October:  10:30am to 4:30pm. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

November through April:  The site is closed during these months for regular tours. Please see our calendar of events for special programs.

The Visitor Center is also open at other hours when special programs are scheduled.  Consult our Calendar of Events for more information.

About Walk-In Guided Tours

Walk-in guided tours are offered at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm on the days that the Visitor Center is open.  A guided tour is the only way to see and experience the interiors of our restored museum houses.

Our goal at Historic Huguenot Street is to ensure that every guest has a meaningful experience.  In addition, we strive to make certain that our guests' expectations are consistently met or exceeded.  If you have a particular interest, please make sure that your guide knows.

Guides are thoroughly trained before they lead a tour.  Many of our full-time staff, including curators, lead tours as part of their commitment to the site and the public. Guides are educated about the events and forces that led this small group of French-speaking Protestants to travel halfway around the world in search of the possibility of a better life.  Guides are not expected to deliver a verbatim script.  They work from a framework that allows them to respond to visitors' questions and interests.

Admission and Ticket Purchase
Tickets are available for purchase at the DuBois Fort Visitor Center.

Deluxe Tour  $15 (1.5 hours)

• Introduction about the Huguenots, the founding of New Paltz and the preservation of the Street
• Visit to the French Church and burying ground
• Guided tours of two to three period houses at Historic Huguenot Street
• Generally, this tour lasts about 90 minutes

Standard Tour  $12 (1 hour)

• Introduction about the Huguenots, the founding of New Paltz and the preservation of the Street
• Guided tours of two period houses at Historic Huguenot Street
• Generally, this tour lasts about 60 minutes

Historic Huguenot Street offers a family rate ($40 for a deluxe tour; $30 for standard).  There is a $1 discount off admission for seniors, students and AAA members.  Admission for children ages 7 to 13 is $10 for a deluxe tour or $9 for a standard.  Children under 7 are free.  Friends of Huguenot Street receive guided tours for free as part of their membership.

Group Tour  $15
Our deluxe tour rates are $15 per person. For groups of fifteen or more, a discounted rate of $12 per person applies. One tour leader per group will be admitted free of charge.

Specialized Group Tour
Specialized group tours are available by prior arrangement. Fees vary according to the scope of the tour and the number of the participants. One tour leader per group will be admitted free of charge.
